“Kizomba Night” Paid Ad Campaign

Doubled monthly social attendance by positioning Kizomba as a community-led antidote to bar culture

In its first year, nonprofit Spokane Kizomba Family was struggling to build awareness for monthly dance socials in a city with limited cultural diversity and event options stuck in brewery-and-bar mode.

Kizomba, an Angolan partner dance, offered something rare: clean, casual fun, genuine human connection, and community building through movement.

I developed concept and copy for a targeted Facebook ad campaign on a shoestring budget, framing Kizomba Night as an escape from the usual routine and an invitation to experience joy and connection beyond small talk over drinks.

The messaging resulted in more than double the attendance compared to the previous social.
